meet Elizabeth

A creative entrepreneur since the mid-1990s, Elizabeth is a potter, illustrator, painter, fiber artist, and workshop instructor.  All of her work is inspired by Elizabeth's decades long exploration into printmaking and surface design.  She hails from a long line of talented crafts persons including her maternal great grandmother who was an accomplished, award winning quiltmaker; her paternal grandmother who taught Elizabeth to hand embroider; and her mother who is a remarkable hand quilter.

Inspired by her mentor, Donna Kassab's approach to creative exploration and sharing of passion and knowledge, Elizabeth is particularly interested in continuing to grow as an artist while sharing her explorations with others.  She is a former President of the Gaston County Art Guild and a studio artist at Yarns to Dye For in Hendersonville, NC; both locations at which she taught silk painting classes.  She taught pottery at the Ceramics Centre in Haarlem, the Netherlands, as well as classes in Modern Hand Embroidery at various locations in North Holland. the Netherlands.  As of November 2023, Elizabeth and her family are in the process of moving back to the United States where she intends to reestablish her painting and ceramics studio.

Fun facts:  Elizabeth loves bird watching; barn quilts; the prairies of Wisconsin; her dogs; and the Boston Celtics. She is a former professional chef and former restaurant owner and previously owned and operated a successful graphics design company which sold flair to independent bookstores and gift shops across the United States and Canada.
